Facility Management Meets IoT

Facility Management
Meets IoT

How much resources can be saved by the consistent use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in facility management?

The Facility Meets IoT Roundtable is betting that by the end of 2017, the consistent use of IoT in facility management will lead to a 20% reduction in facility management costs and at the same time free employees’ capacity in facility management by up to 10%.

Despite high costs in maintenance of real estate, potential to reduce operational costs has been given little attention. Opportunities coming from IoT are not sufficiently developed and available technology is often not used adequately.

On the basis of existing and new “use cases” of IoT-technology, its effects on facility management will be measured. Implementing the “use cases” with state-of-the-art IoT-technology will reduce operational costs. The solution will be based on open source platforms.

Using IoT-technology will lead to a revolution in the industry by saving millions of Swiss francs annually. The value added through increased operational performance results in a competitive advantage for Switzerland.
